Ultra High Speed, High Precision Grinding N.C. Machining Centre for Non-Rotational Work-pieces

Objective

The present proposal regards the possibility to produce a numerical controlled grinding machine for not rotational workpieces such as : - tripode joint
- camshafts
Two line of product can result from this CRAFT project :
a) Development of new actuators for machine tools. Mainly we think to an integrated torque motor- Ball screw, which ensure high rigidity, high precision, high speed necessary for Camshaft machine.
b) Development of the core of a NC Grinding Machining Centre for not rotational workpieces to be used in automotive industry not only for the proposed parts but also for components of power steering and ABS. The expected effects could be : improvement of the flexibility of the grinding machine, improvement of surface quality, improvement of form & dimensional tolerances, improvement of process reliability, reduction of production time. In other words improvement of total quality of the product.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
