Objective
To demonstrate on a large industrial scale the savings resulting from the use of different coals made possible by the combustion with a fluid bed combined with a water tube boiler.
Boiler:
The boiler is a water tube steam boiler of the Denafluid type including a vertical furnace having an upward gas flow.
Fluid bed combustor:
It will comprise a containment tank, wich will be fitted with 8 discharge cones to allow for the future extraction of ash and stones from the bottom of the bed. 160 sparge tubes will be fitted through the containment tank wall (8 zones of 20 tubes). Each zone is fed with recycle gas and combustion air. Steam attemporation is fitted to the unit against high temperatures.
Fans:
Smaller number of large heavy duty fans driven by 3 kv variable speed ac drive motors with frequency converters.
