Objective
Combustion of 4-5 % sulphur coal within tight emission limits (rate of sulphur removal better than 90 %) without limestone addition by using a high limestone-rich ash content coal in a circulating fluid bed combustor. The boiler (65 t/h of steam - 52,5 MW) will be connected with a district heating network providing steam to factories and residential buildings.
Main design features: thermal output 52,5 MW
Inside combustion chamber height: 19 m
Inside combustion chamber cross-section: 17 m2
Fluidizing velocity: up to 7 m/s
Fuel: unwashed 0-20 mm coal, ash content: 30 %
Primary air supplied by a 410 KW fan
Secondary air supplied by a 160 KW fan, and introduced at 2 different levels.
Start up fuel oil system
Recycling of part of the flue gas
Gas cleaning by electrostatic filter
Ash removal by pneumatic conveying system.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
