Objective
Modern information, communication and multimedia technologies can make the one-stop-shop concept real. In integrated community level services this is based upon the notion of a 'back office' and a 'front office' linked electronically. The elderly or disabled person consults an accessible front office for all problems and questions. There, independent experts provide information and help, and assess what is needed by their client from the back office, where the care, services and information provider organisations are located, and also act as the intermediary. Approximately 80% of the information and services can be provided directly by the front office. The next step is to expand this exchange via a portable, interoperable, open framework for electronic delivery of information and services to elderly and disabled people direct.
