COMPACT GAS-GAS HEAT EXCHANGER FOR HEAT RECOVERY

Objective

Industrial development of compact gas-gas heat exchangers for heat recovery from fumes and hot gases in industry and heating installations.

Implementation of a compact gas-gas heat exchanger as a way of recovering heat from the flue gases of a 2 MW industrial heater to preheat the combustion air at the Penarroya Plant in Noyelles Godault. This cross flow heat exchanger is made by stacking perforated plates. Its exchange area is 40 square meters with a volume of 0. 415 cubic meter. The average recovered power is approximately 150 kW. The pressure drops are respectively 1000 and 650 PA for the flue gases and the combustion air. The average gas saving is 8,3%.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
