Objective
A polystyrene mould is used to create castings with an upgrade surface finish at a lower per unit cost then traditional methods. The plant consists in:
1) A moulding machine.
A steam generatoris used to manufacture the polystyrene
2) A melting unit with a turntable which carries fourteen moulding boxes.
3) Sand system for filling the moulding boxes in a proper way and for handling and cooling it.
4) The moulding box elevator for the decasting.
Innovation lies in the use of polystyrene to replace sand moulds in the production of aluminium bronze castings.
