HEAT RECOVERY AND FILTRATION PLANT FOR TEXTILE DRYERS

Objetivo

Exhaust gases from textile stenters are available at about 130 deg. C. These are used as a heat source to heat water which is used to preheat stenter inlet air and dyehouse water. Incorporated in the project are electrostatic filters to remove droplets of pollutants that are condensed in the heat recovery stage.
The innovation lies in the use of modular heat exchangers that are resistant to fouling and corrosion and the use of electrostatic filters. Heat recovery expected : 447 TOE/yr.
The foreseen results concerning the fumes cleaning and the maximum heat recovery have been achieved. Since its setting-up, the plant has continuously working, except for the stops due to summer and Christmas holidays.
The described plant is composed by heat recovery and filtration units, one for each dryer, united by a water ring to optimize the energy recovery. The first stage of the unit, the heat recovery stage, has four heat exchangers, in this case condensation of organic substances can be controlled and the liquid can be drained off.
Cleaning of exchangers is made by steam jets. At the outlet of cooling and recovering section, gases have suspended liquid particles which have diameters of less than 10 (um) and their removal is made by electrostatic filters, divided in two stages, each of them with an efficiency not less than 85%. Droplets pass two time through ionizer field at 10 (kV) and collecting plates at 5 (kV). Energy consumption of the all two sections is not bigger than 500 (Wh) in normal conditions. All the condensate, collected by exchangers and filters, will be analysed with the aim to determine its contents for an industrial recycling, if possible.
