Objective
The "Punaise" is a submersible suction dredger. The "Punaise" is designed for beach nourishment operations to restore eroded beaches with sand from the surf zone. The electric energy for the Punaise will usually be supplied via an umbilical from a land based power station.
The submerged Punaise obtains the sand through a vertical suction pipe suspending from the dredger. The Punaise has attached a unique support facility just in front the suction mouth which penetrates controlled into the consolidated bottom material. This dredger is less sensitive to the impact of waves.
