FUEL CONSUMPTION DOWN BY 40 % IN OVER 100 CALCIUM SILICATE BRICK WORKS IN EUROPE

Objective

To demonstrate that we are able to remove incondesable gases from circulation steam without losing calorie value.

In the last part of the production process of bricks huge quantities of steam are consumed in the autoclaving section. The project intends to demonstrate that with a maximum steam recirculation it is possible to reduce energy by 40 %. For that, incondensables gases (air and ammonia) have to be removed from the steam. The installation will enable to recirculate the steam over a countercurrent ejector gas scrubber in order to wash out the incondensables gases which are vented after passing a twin condensing scrubber unit for rest heat transfer.
The innovation is inherent to those processes.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
