Objective
TO STUDY ANAEROBIC PROCESS ABLE TO PRODUCE HIGH CH4 LEVEL BIOGAS (MORE THAN 90% CH4) BY IMPROVEMENT OF THE ACTIVITY OF H2 - PRODUCING MICROFLORA AND, SO, INDUCING A MORE WIDE CONVERSION OF CO2 TO CH4.
A) A LITERATURE REVIEW WILL PROVIDE MORE INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE SPECIES INVOLVED IN ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PROCESSES AND PARTICULARLY, IN THE PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN AND ACETATE.
THE MICROORGANISMS TO BE PARTICULARLY STUDIED WILL BE IDENTIFIED;
B) H2 PRODUCING MICROORGANISMS WILL BE ISOLATED FROM DIGESTED LIQUORS. BEST CULTURE CONDITIONS AND GROWTH METHODS WILL BE IDENTIFIED;
C) THE BIOCHEMISTRY AND THE KINETICS OF H2 PRODUCING MICROORGANISMS WILL BE STUDIED;
D) THE BEHAVIOUR OF MIXED MICROFLORA FROM ANAEROBIC DIGESTERS WILL BE STUDIED IN COMPARISON WITH MICROFLORA ENRICHED WITH H2 PRODUCING MICROORGANISMS. IN THIS STAGE, SYNTHETIC SUBSTRATES WILL BE UTILIZED, PARTICULARLY ORGANIC ACIDS AND ALCOHOLS;
E) MIXED MICROFLORA ENRICHED WITH H2 PRODUCING MICROORGANISMS WILL BE REALIZED TO DIGEST VARIOUS TYPES OF WASTES. THE RESULTS WILL BE COMPARED WITH THOSE OBTAINED FROM THE OPERATION OF NORMAL DIGESTERS;
F) ON THE BASIS OF THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM THE PREVIOUS ACTIVITY, STARTING-...

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
