Comparative study of electricity storage systems

Objective


The study will eventually contain policy preparing statements as to the desirability of a European effort for the more future technologies.


The work consists of a literature study and interviews and compares different aspects of electricity storage systems such as hydraulic, compressed air, advanced batteries, fly wheels superconducting magnets.
As a basis of comparison different criteria will be applied:usage factors, economic considerations, fuel savings, time needed for realisation. moreover recommendations shall be made concerning the need of a european industrial involvement wanted.
