Objectif
THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT IS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING DATA FOR FLUIDISED BED COMBUSTORS TO BURN COAL, FORESTRY AND OTHER WASTE MATERIALS.
THE FLUID DYNAMIC, HEAT TRANSFER, REACTIVITY, PARTICLE ELUTRIATION, POLLUTANT FORMATION AND FOULING PROPERTIES OF THESE FUELS WILL BE DETERMINED IN INSTRUMENTED BENCH SCALE FLUIDIZED BEDS. THESE DATA WILL BE USED TO IMPROVE AND EXTEND MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF FLUIDIZED BED COMBUSTORS, PARTICULARLY FOR WASTE MATERIALS.
THE RESULTS WILL WIDEN THE RANGE OF APPLICATION OF FLUIDIZED BED BOILERS AND HOT GAS FURNACES EMPLOYING DIFFERENT SOLID FUELS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FILLING A GAP IN THE PRESENT STATUS OF KNOWLEDGE LEADING TO A MOST COMPREHENSIVE AND DETAILED MATHEMATICAL MODEL TO BE USED FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN OF FLUIDIZED BED COMBUSTORS, BURNING SOLID FUELS.
