BASIC PHYSICS OF CWM FUELS, ULTRASONIC SPECTROSCOPY STUDIES.

Objective

THE PROJECT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUNDAMENTAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE PHYSICS OF DISPERSING AND STABILIZING CWM'S. THE RESULTS OF THE INVESTIGATION AND THE EQUIPMENT AND MEASURING TECHNIQUES TO BE DEVELOPPED, MAY BE APPLIED IN THE DESIGN OF DEVICES TO MONITOR AND CONTROL THE SOLID CONCENTRATION, PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION AND SEDIMENTATION RATE IN CWM'S MANUFACTURING PROCESSES.

THE PROJECT INTENDS TO ACHIEVE A SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN CURRENT COAL/WATER SLURRY FUEL TECHNOLOGY BY APPLYING ADVANCED ULTRASONIC PULSE TECHNIQUES TO DEEPEN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF PARTICLE/PARTICLE INTERACTIONS IN THESE COMPLEX SYSTEMS AND TO IDENTIFY MORE CLEARLY THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTIONS AND ADDITIVE CHEMICAL TYPE AND LOCATION. IT IS ALSO INTENDED TO DEVELOP SOME ASPECTS OF THESE TECHNIQUES TO FILL SERIOUS GAPS IN THE AVAILABLE PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION FOR THIS EMERGING TECHNOLOGY.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
