Objective
WHEN THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE HERMES MODEL WERE DEFINED IT WAS STIPULATED THAT A LEVEL 2 WOULD BE ADDED TO THE NATIONAL MODELS WITH THE AIM OF A FINER SECTORAL DISAGGREGATION AND A MORE DETAILED REPRESENTATION OF ENERGY. THIS LEVEL 2 WAS TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO GO BEYOND THE ANALYSIS OF THE ENERGY-ECONOMY INTERFACE AND PRODUCE ENERGY FORECASTS PROPER.
THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ENERGY SYSTEM SIMULATION MODEL WILL BE UNDERTAKEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN GREECE. GREEK LINEAR PROGRAMMING ENERGY SUPPLY MODELS PRESENT IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS FOR DETAILED AND NEW ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES STUDIES. THIS KIND OF APPLICATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE PROPOSED NEW MODEL.
THE DATA BASE OF THE MEDEE MODEL NEEDS TO BE UPDATED AND MORE DETAILED. IN ADDITION, THE PRESENT SOFTWARE SHOULD BE REDESIGNED IN ORDER TO BE FLEXIBLE. DEMONSTRATIONS ON A MICRO-COMPUTER WILL ENFORCE MEDEE'S USAGE POTENTIEL.
THE TRANSPORT MODULE SHOULD BE REDESIGNED IN A WAY TO REFLECT PROGRESS IN DATA AND METHODOLOGY. THIS WILL IMPROVE FORECASTING CAPABILITIES OF MEDEE FOR GREECE.
- HERMES MODEL :
- COMPLETION OF ENERGY SUBMODEL OF THE HERMES MODEL FOR GREECE.
- ISOLATION OF THE GREEK MODULE OF THE EEC MIDAS MODEL IN ORDER TO BE USABLE AS AN AUTONOMOUS MODEL.
- LINKAGE OF THE HERMES AND THE MIDAS MODELS FOR GREECE.
- EFOM MODEL :
- CONSTRUCTION OF A SIMULATION VERSION OF THE EFOM-12C MODEL FOR GREECE.
- EXTENSION OF THE MODEL OBTAINED IN ORDER TO INCLUDE DEMAND - SIDE EQUIPEMENT, ENERGY CONSERVATION AND NEW ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES.
- ADDITION OF NEW ENERGY TRANSFORMATION ON PRODUCTION SUB-SYSTEMS.
- MEDEE MODEL :
- REDESIGN AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TRANSPORT MODULE OF THE MEDEE MODEL FOR GREECE.
- UPDATING OF THE DATABASE.
- DEMONSTRATION OF THE MEDEE USAGE FOR GREEK POLICY QUESTIONS.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
