Objective
THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO INVESTIGATE TO WHICH EXTENT PASSIVE SOLAR ENERGY CAN BE APPLIED IN THE EXISTING DANISH BUILDING STOCK.
THE FIRST PART OF THE SURVEY IS TO COLLECT DETAILED INFORMATION ON A SAMPLE OF TYPICAL BUILDING CATEGORIES. DATA CONCERNING PLAN FORM, CONTRUCTION, ORIENTATION AND SOLAR OBSTRUCTIONS TO THE BUILDING ARE BEING REGISTERED. THE INFORMATION IS COLLECTED BY MEANS OF ON SITE INVESTIGATIONS, DEPOSITED PLANS, ORDNANCE SURVEY MAPS AND VARIOUS REGISTERS. A PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUE IS USED FOR DETERMINATION OF THE OVERSHADOWING EFFECT. WITH HELP OF COMPUTER AND OVERLAY THE PICTURE INFORMATION IS TRANSFORMED INTO A MORE COMPARABLE FORM. THE DATA WILL BE ANALYZED STATISTICALLY, AND CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE BUILDING STOCK WILL BE ELABORATED. THIS CAN BE USED TO DEFINE TYPICAL BUILDINGS WHICH WILL BE THE BASIC OF A DESIGN STUDY OF DIFFERENT PASSIVE SOLAR OPTIONS AS: INCREASE OF WINDOW AREA, ATTACHED SUNSPACE, SOLAR WALLS, ROOF-SPACE COLLECTORS, INCREASE OF BUILDING HEAT STORAGE CAPACITY AND REDUCTION OF THE OVERSHADOWING EFFECT. THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE WILL BE SIMULATED AND THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMICAL FEASIBILITY OF DIFFERENT DESIGNS WILL BE EVALUATED.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
