Objective
THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT IS TO OPTIMIZE PROCESS CONDITIONS FOR THE JOINT UPGRADING OF PETROLEUM OIL FRACTIONS AND OILS FROM COAL LIQUEFACTION PROCESSES.
FUTURE OIL REFINERY CONCEPTS INCLUDE SIMULTANEOUS PROCESSING OF PETROLEUM AND COAL OIL. PRESENTLY THERE ARE NO RELIABLE PROCESS DATA AVAILABLE.
STARTING FROM THE PROCESS PARAMETERS OF CONVENTIONAL PETROLEUM REFINERIES THE MOST SUITABLE PROCESS CONDITION FOR BLENDING, FRACTIONATION, REFINING, REFORMING AND HYDROCRACKING OF OIL MIXTURES WILL BE DETERMINED.
LIGHT OIL ROUTE:
MINERAL AND COAL LIGHT OILS WILL BE REFINED AS DIFFERENT BLENDS. IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE REFINED PRODUCTS WILL SHOW THE FEED SPECIFICATIONS FOR A COMMERCIAL REFORMER UNIT. IN THE SCOPE OF THIS COLLABORATIVE PROJECT INVOLVING SEPARATE CONTRACTS RUHRKOHLE AG WILL PROVIDE BRITISH COAL CORP. WITH REFINED LIGHT OIL SAMPLES AS FEEDSTOCK FOR REFORMING TESTS.
MIDDLE OILROUTE:
THE MIDDLE OIL PROGRAMME CONTAINS REFINING AND HYDROCRACKING OF MIDDLE OIL BLENDS. THE HYDROCRACKER CONDITIONS WILL BE OPTIMIZED TO PRODUCE DIESEL FUEL OR NAPHTA. THE NAPHTA FRACTION OF THE REFINER AND THE HYDROCRACKER WILL BE USED AS FEEDSTOCK FOR BRITISH COAL'S REFORMER TESTS.
THE UNTREATED MIDDLE OIL BLENDS AND THE REFINED OILS WILL BE EVALUATED REGARDING THEIR USE AS MARKETABLE PRODUCTS WITHOUT FURTHER TREATMENT. THE TESTS ARE PERFORMED IN CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING HIGH PRESSURE FACILITIES AT BERGBAU-FORSCHUNG GMBH., ESSEN. THE HYDROGENATION REACTOR VOLUME IS 1,5 1, THE VOLUME OF THE FIXED CATALYSTS BED CAN BE VARRIED BETWEEN 500 AND 1000 ML.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
