Catalytic abatement of n2o and nox from combustion power plants ('CADENOX')

Objective

The proposed project aims to develop an advanced and cost-effective catalytic technology for the system for the simultaneous abatement of N and NOx degrading emissions from oxygen rich exhaust of combustion plants. The development will be based on the selective catalytic reduction of N and NOx by hydrocarbons. Sometimes, external hydrocarbon addition could be necessary depending on its level in the exhaust, but in this way, the project is expected to have a wider applicability. Even in that case, the required amount is below the costly equivalent one of conventional SCR-systems. Due to the presence of poisons in combustion off-gases, practical applications require the development of highly active and selective catalysts stable over a meaningful time of operation. The process approach will be evaluated by catalyst development and lab- and bench scale experiments. The work will be supported by basic studies and catalyst characterisation.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
