Turbine bulbe mini-hydro a entrainement direct (DIRECT DRIVE MINI BULB-TYPE HYDRAULIC UNIT)

Objective

The project aims at developing a bulb-type hydraulic unit in the power range of 200 kW-2000 kW, water-lubricated, without speed increaser, controlled by electric servomotors. The direct drive of the AC generator needs the development of a low speed electric machine, which will decrease the volume of the unit and its noise. The water bearings and the suppression of the speed increaser lead to eliminate pollution of rivers by lubricants. The use of electric actuators leads to suppress the hydraulic oil. This bulb-type unit, smaller and more efficient, will be as reliable as existing ones and less expensive (-10% investment, O,O5E/kWh). It would be installed for stand-alone applications presenting good water supply, but could also be connected to a grid. It will make it possible to equip in good economic and environmental conditions the numerous sites available in Eastern Europe and in the world, and make an important contribution to increase the share of renewable in Europe.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
