Solar space conditioning with a chemical heat pump

Objective

Solar cooling of buildings is an attractive idea, especially in southern European climates, where cooling loads and availability of solar radiation are approximately in phase. Research and development of a new integrated, solar assisted air-conditioning system is proposed, the operation of which will be based on the use of a chemical heat pump. Main target of the proposed project is the adaptation and optimisation basic energy technologies (high efficiency solar collectors, chemical heat pump, devices for automatic control and optimal energy management), aiming toothier introduction in an integrated system, specially designed to operate with solar energy and ready for installation. The proposed work will enable SMEs specialized in the area of solar and cooling technologies, to resolve R&D problems related to the design of this type of system, especially in the range of small and medium capacity conditioning devices.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
