Objective
The IRMATECH project aims at several industrial objectives: 1 - Cost reduction of MCFC from about 8000 to about 1000 _/kW for the whole plant in the next 10 years through: - reducing costs related to materials and manufacturing processes of 50%-70% - increasing the compactness of the MCFC of 40% 2 - Increase the long term behaviour from 20000 hours to 40000 hours 3 - Minimisation of the environmental impact and used energy relating to some manufacturing processes These three major objectives will be achieved by working on the following aspects :
I. Fuel Cell System: reduced manufacturing costs and increased life-time
II. Balance of plant: multifuel capability - one unique reactor for all the fuels
III. Integrated system analysis.
