Miniaturised gasoline fuel processor for fuel cell vehicle applications (MINIREF)

Objective

The final objective of this project is to reform gasoline in order to power a fuel cell in a car. The goal of the MINIREF project is to demonstrate the feasibility of the use of miniaturised fuel processors, using micro channels technology, to make syngas from gasoline, by sPOX reforming and/or auto thermal reforming. The program should allow realising a 5 kW system, made of a reforming art, a WGS part and a PrOx part, a feeding system, and a heating/cooling system using micro channels. The reforming, WGS and PrOx catalysts will be optimised, and in-channels catalysts deposition techniques will be developed and optimised, as well as micro channels geometries, The same catalysts for monoliths will be tested too, in Order to make a real comparison of micro channels performances. Costs and industrialisability will be evaluated too.
