Objective
The fellows will have the opportunity to work in one of the major centres for R&D in oilfield services in Europe. They will apply their existing theoretical knowledge to the on-going development of engineering products. They will thus be able to gain further experience in reservoir modelling, geophysics, applied maths and computer science. They will benefit from an environment where experts from different domains and different nationalities are working together. In addition, they will be encouraged to interact with the various Schlumberger European and American centres and to communicate their results on the occasion of meetings and seminars. The Schlumberger-Rebound Product Centre will benefit from the creativity of young scientists who have acquired some previous research experience during their PhD work. This will be an opportunity to explore new ideas in a domain. such as the surveillance of underground storage reservoirs of natural gas, that is both technically challenging and economically promising. It is expected to position the European industry as a leader in this domain, not only within Europe but also outside, through the export of European know-how.
