Objective
The proposal addresses one of the indicative RTD subjects "Benchmarking of storage technologies and systems for different applications" and focuses on RES and electricity storage. Benchmarking is necessary to verify whether a product meets the requirements of a given application and to allow the selection of the most suitable product by users. Benchmarking requires an accurate knowledge of the operating conditions. At the moment this knowledge does not exist in sufficient detail, particularly for energy storage products. Test procedures for benchmark tests are only partly available. It is essential that knowledge concerning the operating conditions of energy storage systems in RES include all applications in all countries. For this reason, the partnership includes non-European organisations. Strong interaction with the IEC is planned so that the project results can be used to develop generally accepted standards.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
