Objectif
Clean liquid transport fuels from natural gas can be obtained through different procedures. In this proposal a new and innovative approach will be investigated coupling auto thermal catalytic partial oxidation of natural gas at relatively low temperatures to produce the synthesis gas and a Fischer-Tropsch reaction system. The intended innovative developments will include more active and stable catalysts for both stages. It will also consider the application of advanced membrane technologies to build special water selective membrane modules able to continuously extract water from the FT reaction system. From the preliminary results at lab scale the most promising catalysts and membrane modules will be tested at semi-pilot scale to gather the required information for the technical and economical assessment of the new process.
