Objective
The project is oriented to both research in innovative topics and organization of international workshops and a conference for young researchers. An intensive exchange of researchers, Ph.D. and M.Sc. students is also planned. The research is addressed to energy efficient ventilation systems designed on the basis of integrated building performance simulation and correct modelling of complex room air flow. The indoor environment will be experimentally assessed. Thus the ventilation efficiency will be investigated in its complexity. The research is based on the idea that the ventilation efficiency concerns not only the energy but also the quality of life and health of people, which results in the human productivity. The experience of the staff and the established effective collaboration with reputable EC Universities precondition the achievement of the main goal - to improve the capacity of the center and the links with EC Centers.
The overall objective of the project is to extend and improve the capacities of the Center so that to maintain an effective collaboration with the EC partners and better meet the local socio-economic needs. This overall objective is related .to the achievement of particular key-objectives as follows: to improve the experience of the staff in prediction and design of energy efficient ventilation systems as well as in experimental assessment of indoor air quality and human comfort; to increase the links with the EC partner University Centers and especially with the twinning Centre from Denmark; to support an intensive exchange of young researchers, Ph.D and M.Sc. students; to improve the links with the local industry through organization of workshops on up-to-date problems; to attract young people through workshops and conference inviting leading scientists for key-lectures; to improve the management of the Center so that to guarantee an effective work.
