Trend Assessment for Stratospheric Temperature

CORDIS provides links to public deliverables and publications of HORIZON projects.

Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Deliverables

Summary: Several data series of local and global stratospheric temperature over the last 20 or 40 years have been analyzed within TASTE on order to evaluate causes of antural inter-annual variability of the stratosphere and to estimate if the negative temperature trends observed during the last 40 years is significant. In a first step, the quality of the database has been evaluated by the intercomparison between data series. In a second step, temperature perturbations due to natural phenomena like QBA, ENSO, solar cycle and volcanic eruptions have been estimated in order to assess the significance of trends detected in data series. In the final step, an attempt has been made to determine the amplitude of the stratospheric temperature trend in local and global data.
