Objective

MetaPure is a new bloremediation technology, based on a dried plant biomass, for the removal of heavy metals from (waste) water. The objectives of this research proposal concern the applications of MetaPure in the following real cases
Remediation of heavy metals from high salinity water solutions
Remediation of heavy metal from solutions containing a cocktail of heavy metals
Remediation of Mercury for recycling process The objectives will be achieved by:
Research of the biomass metal chemical binding groups and mechanism
Optimization of the filtration parameters
Optimization of incineration conditions of the biomass, for metal recovery
