The objective of the FUEGO system is to be at the service of the fire-fighters, with a flexible architecture on ground so that the system can be grown by the specific agencies or companies on a specifc country. Therefore, the user role in the project is essential. FUEGO system will provide, mostly, the following real time products: - Fire detection product: It consits of the position of the fire, size and intensity, place name, access, fuel presence and conditions, slope and initial fire trend, map of the area and other related information. This information is the combination of the one offered by the satellite(fire alarm, location, size and intensity of the fire fire) with the one residente in the Primary User Station(PUS) database, wich is updated ian a short term basis. - Fire monitoring product: The result of the complete monitoring process is a compressed pack of information on the fire line characteristics (geometry, position and intensity) wich will be also integrated with the PUS database. The monitoring product will provide the subscriber with information related to the on-going fire in the specific region. This information includes the fire line and fire intensity with a colour code and will allow the subscriber to superpose it with other GIS information and simulation tools, allowing the user to asses the evolution of the fire. The better use of fire management tools when provided with FUEGO fresh infromation will result in less burning, better economy and less risk for personnel.
