Development of a combined incineration/absorption process for rural areas

Objectif

About 2/3 of the regions in Europe are so-called rural areas, including the islands. These thinly populated areas are faced more and more with the problem of waste disposal. Despite intensive efforts in the past to reduce waste and residual substances from rural areas or to recycle them locally, large volumes currently remain which for cost reasons are deposited on refuse sites. The EU is aware of this problem and has defined the following priorities for the treatment of waste in its legislation's) Avoidance p2 further use p3 other disposal Certain individual countries have already passed more stringent laws or directives. Thus according to German legislation on domestic refuse (TA Siedlungsabfall), in future only waste with an organic content of <5% may be deposited on refuse sites or incinerated in conventional waste incineration plants. The demands placed on disposal and thus on cost will rise increasingly in the future. Against this background there is a major demand for new and innovative solutions for decentralised and combined incineration processes for rural areas. The objective of the proposed research project is therefore to develop a combined incineration/absorption process for the production of cold which can be used for different applica
