STUDENTS ACROSS EUROPE LANGUAGE NETWORK

Objective

SAELN will develop a new multimedia service that offers network delivered language learning that integrates the digital 'textbook' form, computer independent learning, digital television, and 'CD ROM' style courses. Students across Europe will be able to talk to each other using video conferencing. This will allow them to practice spoken language skills. The SAELN service will initially cover English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. The service will support any initial language learners, though it will focus on secondary students. Over 200 teachers and 1000 students will take part in the project.
