INVENTORY OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS FROM VARIOUS EMISSIONS AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PROFILES OF THEIR METABOLITES

Objective

ASSESSMENT OF THE TRISK FROM CARCINOGENIC POLYNUCLEAR HYDROCARBONS IN VARIOUS EMISSIONS.

THE PARTICULATE PHASE OF EMISSIONS FROM

- DOMESTIC HEATING (CARBON AND LIGHT FUEL)
- COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS
- DIESEL PASSENGER CARS

WILL BE ANALYSES FOR POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS AND THEIR O- AND S-CONTAINING ANALOGNES.

THE PAH-MIXTURES WILL BE SEPARATED BY ADVANCED GASCHROMATOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES. WHICH PERMIT A QUATITATIVE DETERMINATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL COMPOUNDS. THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE COMPOUNDS IS DONE BY MASS SPECTROMETRY.

NEW TECHNIQUES USING GLASSCAPILLARY GASCHROMATOGRAPHY WILL PERMIT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PROFILES OF METABOLITES OF THE PAH FORMED IN VARIOUS IN VITRO SYSTEMS (MICROSOMAL PREPARATIONS, CELL-AND TISSUE CULTURES).

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
