Objective
TO DEVELOP NEW BLEACHING PROCESSES FOR PULPS BY UTILIZATION OF OZONE.
RESEARCH IS MADE ON A SPECIAL TYPE OF FREQUENCY TRANSFORMER IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE OZONE PRODUCTION FROM EXISTING OZONE GENERATORS.
THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 400-600 KW PROTOTYPE OZONE GENERATOR IS FORESEEN AND ENERGY REQUIREMENT IS OPTIMIZED.
TRIALS WITH DIFFERENT OXYGEN/AIR MIXTURES ARE STUDIED.
BLEACHING TRIALS WITH OZONE ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHEMICAL PULPS ARE ALSO STUDIED.
THE REPLACEMENT OF CHLORINE WITH OZONE WILL ALLOW A SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION OF THE MUTAGENIC ACTIVITY OF THE EFFLUENTS.
TESTS ON OZONE TREATMENT PILOT PLANT ARE MADE IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE THE PROCESS.
