Objective
TO ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY TO APPLY THE ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PROCESS TO THE PURIFICATION OF WASTE WATERS FROM CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES.
THE RESEARCH WILL BE FOCUSED ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
1/ SYSTEMATIC SCREENING OF WASTE WATER FROM PLASTIC, DYE, PHARMACEUTICALS, ORGANIC SUBSTANCES PROCESSING INDUSTRIES AND NITROGEN ORGANIC FERTILISERS MANUFACTURES, RELEVANT WITH NO OR MINOR PRETREATMENTS TO BIOLOGICAL ANAEROBIC PURIFICATIONS:
1A) ORIGIN OF WASTE WATER AND DATA ELABORATION
1B) EXPERIMENTAL CHARACTERISATION OF WASTE WATER CONSIDERED APT TO SUCH TREATMENT AND EXECUTION OF BENCH SCALE FEASIBILITY TEST, WITH REACTORS CONTINUOUSLY FED.
2/ EVALUATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF BIOCHEMICAL PHASES SEPARATION AND OF THE JOINT BIOLOGICAL (ANAEROBIC AND AEROBIC) TREATMENTS FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF HIGHLY PURIFIED WASTE WATER (ESPECIALLY FOR TOXIC METALS AND COLOUR REMOVAL).
3/ EVALUATION, WITH SMALL-SCALE REACTORS MOSTLY AUTOMATED, OF THE MAIN DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANAEROBIC TREATMENT PROCESSES ON SOME (AMONG THE MORE IMPORTANT AND DIFFUSED) DIFFERENT TYPES OF WASTE WATER.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
