Objective
THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE IS TO TEST WHETHER THE AMBIENT CONCENTRATIONS OF ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTANTS IN IMPORTANT AGRICULTURE AREAS AFFECT CROP YIELD OR NOT.
THIS OBJECTIVE WILL BE ACHIEVED BY MEANS OF OPEN TOP CHAMBERS, USING A COMMON PROTOCOL, IN ORDER TO OBTAIN COMPATIBLE DATA WITH OTHER COUNTRIES.
THIS SURVEY WOULD PERMIT TO ASSESS THE RESPONSE OF ECONOMICALLY IMPORTANT PLANT TO THE "POLLUTION CLIMATE" OF SOUTH WEST OF FRANCE.
DEFINITION OF "POLLUTION CLIMATE" IMPLIES, PARALLELY TO THE EXPERIMENTATION, TO MAINTAIN AS COMPLETE AS POSSIBLE A MONITORING STATION FOR PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ATMOPHERE AND A COORDINATED EXPRESSION OF RESULTS: SO2, NOX, 03, CO2, TO, RH, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF O.T.C.
TEN OPEN TOP CHAMBERS, DERIVED FROM NCLAN MODEL, WILL BE USED TO TEST EFFECTS OF: FILTERED AND UNFILTERED AIR, AMBIENT AND SUPPLEMENTARY OZONE CONCENTRATIONS ON BEAN AND WINTER BROAD BEAN.
