KNOWLEDGE OF TOXIC AND DANGEROUS WASTES AND THEIR TREATABILITY.

Objective

TO COLLECT RESULTS ON WASTE CHARACTERIZATION AND LEACHATE MIGRATION, THEIR BEHAVIOUR IN THE LANDFILL AND SEVERAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR THEIR DETOXIFICATION.

THE FRENCH PROJECT IS COMPOSED OF SIX RESEARCH PROPOSALS UNDER THE FOLLOWING TOPICS :

KNOWLEDGE ABOUT TOXIC AND DANGEROUS WASTES, IN PARTICULAR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF CHLORO- AND NITRO-PHENOLS IN WASTES;

- MODELLING THE BEHAVIOUR OF TOXIC AND DANGEROUS WASTES (15 SUB-PROJECTS);
- BIODETOXIFICATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTES;
- DECONTAMINATION OF WASTES CONTAINING TRACES OF TOXIC PRODUCTS;
- ECONOMICAL TECHNIQUES AND LONG-TERM SOLIDIFICATION OF LIQUID WASTE OR SLUDGE;
- DESTRUCTION OF ORGANIC TOXIC PRODUCTS USING HIGH TEMPERATURE VAPOCRACKING.

THIS PROJECT WILL BE IMPLEMENTED IN CLOSE COOPERATION WITH PROJECT EV4V1/00462 FROM THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DENMARK (PROJECT 2).
