European event on technology "technologies for sustainable development"

Objective

The EET 2001 aims at gathering 1500 European engineers, researchers, public and private decision-makers and offers them two days of multidisciplinary and multi-sector reflection on the theme: Technologies for sustainable development. EET’s contribution to this major challenge is to produce original scientific and technical reflection, through 90 speeches and papers, 7 round tables and 10 workshops. These workshops will present 60 technological innovations and foster exchanges of experiences between engineers and between States (EU and non-EU countries). They will provide for each major sector, an overview of the recently achieved or upcoming progress likely to contribute to an economic growth combined with respect for the environment and participate to the reflection on how to encourage conservation of resources and cooperation between developed and developing countries.
