Sustainability impact assessment of eu's economic policies

Objective

The purpose of the proposal is to organise a workshop on the Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) of EU's economic policies, applied to trade liberalisation as a case study. The objective is to establish contacts between the scientific community members working on SIA-related topics, policy-makers and negotiators. It will provide information to the policy-makers on the state of the art; identify the main European research groups working on the subject, and help academics to understand the policy needs. The workshop will focus on the methodological and analytical aspects of SIA. The use of CGEM linked to sectorial models will be thoroughly explored. The three dimensions of sustainable development - economic, social and environmental - will be covered.
