Scheme to provide training and assistance for research players for the assessment of the fate and removal of pharmaceuticals and estrogenic compounds (pecs) released into the environment

Objective

Wide variety of pharmaceuticals and estrogenic compounds (PECs) has been disposed into the environment either point or non-point sources. The proposed project TRITON is related to existing EU funded RTD project, which studies the multi-barrier approach to control the indirect and direct discharge of PECs into the water bodies. The proposed project TRITON is meant to implement the results obtained by existing EU funded RTD project by providing training for the research players in this research consortia including authorities and end-users. The training is carried out by arranging workshops and seminars as well as by Internet based distant learning methods. The areas of training cover the analysis of the occurrence and fate of PECs, environmental risk reduction technologies (water and waste water treatment and artificial ground water recharge), and environmental risk assessment and management.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
