Objective
Exotic plant invasions are a serious threat to the biodiversity & economy of Mediterranean islands. EPIDEMIE will incorporate socio-economic & ecological perspectives to resolve the problems of exotic plant invasions. Simulation models will integrate regional surveys and local ecological studies to produce clear insights into the ecosystem vulnerability. The project will provide guidelines for the sustainable management of Mediterranean ecosystems in order to prevent the deleterious impact of exotic plant invasions.
