Objective

HABES aims at developing an improved understanding of harmful algal bloom formation by bringing together a multi-disciplinary team of Europe's most prominent scientists in a network of inter-linked (pilot) projects and by giving them access to the best possible datasets. HABES will develop an expert system, reflecting existing and newly acquired knowledge of harmful algal blooms. The expert system, using fuzzy logic principles, will be able to identify the critical locations and periods that are susceptible to harmful algal bloom formation.
