Objective
Many types of dust gauges are used in pollution surveys throughout the EU. No common design is accepted universally. When European standards are set for acceptable dust levels, a common dust fall system must be adopted as a standard methodology for capture and analysis of samples. The project will develop an improved dust gauge able to effectively collect all types of dust commonly experienced as a nuisance, as well as common deployment and analytical methods. A dust survey will be carried out to test the performance of the system against existing gauges, and provide new understanding of the problem of dust pollution within the EU.
