Objective
We will provide coordination for the balanced research programme on stratospheric ozone and UVB supported by the EC and national agencies, and to assist the stratospheric research community so that the maximum benefit is gained from all EU funded research. This will help the EU to address its policy aims related to the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols. This will be achieved by a number of means, working principally with clusters of EC and nationally funded projects on issues such as stratospheric ozone loss, UVB, climate-stratosphere coupling, the atmospheric impact of aviation in the UTLS and satellite validation. In practice the work will consist of the organisation of meetings, multi-project activities, and the dissemination of information amongst scientists, to European policy makers and to the public and the media. We will work closely with EC Research DG, national programmes and the EU Science Panel on Stratospheric Ozone to achieve the aims.
