Active exchange of experience on indicators and development of perspectives in the context of the UNCCD

Objective

Within the framework of the UNCCD, in the four regional Annexes several activities have been carried out for the identification of desertification indicators. All these activities that have been developed in parallel in all Annexes, have produced a relevant quantity of data and information that up to now has never been organised systematically. This proposal, in the framework of the ENRICH implementation, aims at developing and co-ordinating exchange of experience across the world between scientific institutions involved in the implementation of the regional annexes of the UNCCD, by setting up four thematic international seminars that will deal with relevant key issues common to all regional Annexes. Each seminar will allow a profitable dialogue and exchange of experience between European and non-European scientists and the monitoring and evaluation managers, decision makers and all parties involved in UNCCD implementation.
