Objective
ICRAM coordinates scientific research carried out in the Italian marine protected areas through a newly established program. The workshop will analyse the research activities carried out in marine protected areas in the Mediterranean and develop models of partnerships for the management of marine ecosystems and their living resources according to the principle of mutual opening of national programmes as set out in the European Research Area system. Through the workshop, Italy intends to allineate research in the Italian Marine Protected Areas network in to the European standards. Hence, it will be possible to develop RST project to achieve a more coordinated implementation of national and European research programmes in marine protected areas through the Mediterranean.
