Objective
The aim of the proposal is to create a Centre for Environmental Engineering and Mechanics (CEM) dealing with inland, transitional, and coastal waters, and directed towards sustainable development. It will provide integration and research transfer between the ERA and Poland, and re-establishing co-operation with NAS. The Centre will organise workshops and summer schools for participants from the ERA, Poland and NAS where lectures will given by Polish and foreign experts. Intensive exchange of study visits is expected. One of the main tasks, apart from scientific aspects of the Centre, is the introduction of the UE Water Framework Directive in Polish institutions concerned with water management. The Centre, located in IBW, will base on existing human, technical and scientific potential of the Institute. The Centre will be operated by Executive Committee with support from the Advisory Board.
