Objectif
Gaseous contaminants e.g. sulphurdioxide, and air borne particles e.g. fungi spores are responsible for the deterioration of paper in archives and libraries. At present only high-cost air purification systems related to outdoor pollutants are available. This project aims to develop an innovative low/mid cost system for safe storage of paper based cultural heritage. The technical development claimed is the application of elelctrostatics. End-users will be involved in the evaluation of the system developed. RTD performers will be included for the applied scientific work. Results will be disseminated using specific Journals and presentations at e.g. EG conferences.
