European marine seismic metadata and information centre

Objective

EUROSEISMIC proposes to compile metadata for seismic survey data held mainly by the European geological surveys. These data will include seismic profiles and sonar records accumulated by the project partners during the last thirty years but will also include similar data from external organisations, which are held by the project partners on a non-confidential basis. The metadata will include geospatial data and sufficient metadata elements to allow the user to ascertain if they are suitable for their purpose. The metadata will be made available on the existing EU-SEASED Website that holds all marine seabed samples and cores held by the partners and other European marine organisations. The metadata will be searchable through a map interface with GIS functionality on the Internet. All metadata elements will be standardised according to international standards.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
