Quality assurance of spectral ultraviolet measurements in europe through the development of a transportable unit

Objective

The project aims at providing proper and unified Quality Assurance to solar UV measurements conducted presently by spectroradiometers operating in Europe. The aim will be achieved through the development of a Transportable Unit, which after thorough testing and validation will be circulated to European UV stations where its measurements will be compared with collocated measurements by the local spectroradiometers. This project will provide an alternative method to test the quality of UV spectroradiometers that was done until now mainly at intercomparison campaigns. The unit will be also capable of offering to the local instruments spectral resolution and angular response characterisations. After the end of the project, the unit will be delivered to a qualified Institute who will undertake its long-term maintenance and operation, in order to provide continuous QA to Interested European UV stations.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
