Monitoring data and information exchange among decision support systems

Objectif

Computer based decision support systems (DSSs) for nuclear emergencies are a reality nowadays in Europe, United States and Japan; however, recently the criticality accident in Japan has shown that there is still a lack of an adequate and efficient data and information exchange platform that enables these DSSs to function properly and serve the purpose that triggered their development.

The main objectives of this project are: to achieve practical improvements in cross-boundary nuclear emergency management through the identification of the necessary data and information for decision making and the development and operational test of a communication tool, which is independent of the computer platform on which the DSSs are running, e.g. using state-of-the-art internet technology to transfer structured information.
