Comparative analysis of risk governance for radiological and chemical discharges of industrial installations

Objective

Aiming at improving the governance systems in radiological risks related to environmental radioactive discharges from nuclear installations, RISKGOV will carry out in-depth case studies in three countries (France, Sweden and United Kingdom) in order to analyse the key elements contributing to the quality of governance systems of radiological risks.
These elements will be compared with those contributing to the quality of governance systems for chemical risks associated with environmental discharges from non-nuclear installations. For this purpose, an interdisciplinary analysis framework addressing the role of the key stakeholders within the governance systems will be prepared. The assessment of the governance systems will aim at drawing out lessons and operational recommendations on how the governance systems at EU levels could be improved.
